		<title>Our Mission Statement</title>
		<link>http://samocoho.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=44</link>
<description>SaMoCoHo is an umbrella organization that provides fertile soil for the growth of more than one community and cohousing project in and around the greater Santa Monica area. We lean toward green and sustainable lifestyles. Everyone interested in living in a cohousing situation is welcome to participate in SaMoCoHo meetings and online activities. Generally, only a portion of SaMoCoHo members are interested in any particular cohousing project that is proposed. </description>

		<title>A Technique For Building Community</title>
		<link>http://samocoho.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=46&amp;Itemid=41</link>
<description>One person who had given up on getting a cohousing group started
decided to work on her new neighborhood. She made bags of apples and
attached an invitation to a pot luck at her house the following
Sunday. She put the bags on the door handles of her neighbor's houses.

And was very discouraged that no one sent rsvps.

But on Sunday, everyone showed up.

So I think the take away is don't start a conversation on a
theoretical level about how great cohousing is and why don't we do it
here. Many people don't want theories in their homes. They will,
however, respond to practical needs or meaningful neighborhood social
events.
